The Lightning Bear's Secret Mission

Maya loved to spy on the creatures in her backyard. She would hide behind the big oak tree and watch squirrels gathering acorns, birds building nests, and sometimes, if she was very lucky, she'd see the old brown bear that lived in the forest beyond the fence.

One hot afternoon, Maya was swimming in her pool when something amazing happened. A bolt of lightning flashed across the clear blue sky—even though it wasn't raining! Maya looked up and gasped. There, swimming right beside her, was the brown bear from the forest! But this wasn't an ordinary bear. His fur was glowing with tiny sparkles, and around his neck hung a shiny silver cable that pulsed with light.

"I'm on a secret mission," the bear whispered, his voice as gentle as a summer breeze. "I swim through pools and lakes, gathering friendship and joy to bring back to my forest friends. This lightning cable connects all the happy places in the world."

Maya's eyes widened with wonder. "Can I help?" she asked.

The bear smiled. "You already have. Your laughter while swimming made the cable glow brighter than it has in weeks. That's the real magic—friendship and joy make the strongest light."

From that day on, Maya would spy on the pool's surface, watching for the shimmer of lightning. Sometimes she'd see the bear swimming by, and she'd wave, knowing that somewhere, her joy was traveling through that glowing cable to make someone else smile.
