The Lightning Bear's Magic Swim
Lila loved watching summer storms from her bedroom window. But tonight, the sky wasn't just dark—it was dancing. Purple and blue lightning streaked across the clouds like nature's own fireworks show.
Curious, Lilda slipped outside to the old swimming hole behind her house. That's when she saw him: a great brown bear with fur that shimmered like captured starlight. But this wasn't just any bear. Every time lightning flashed above, his coat glowed golden!
"You shouldn't be here during a storm," the bear spoke gently, his voice like distant thunder. "I'm Finnegan, keeper of storm magic."
Lila's eyes widened. "I've always wanted to learn to swim, but I'm afraid of the water."
Finnegan smiled. "What if I show you something magical? Watch."
The great bear stepped into the swimming hole. But instead of sinking, he began to glide across the surface as if walking on moonbeams. Each lightning strike made ripples of golden light spread from his paws, turning the dark water into a glowing tapestry.
"The lightning gives the water courage," Finnegan explained. "Just like friends give each other courage."
He extended a paw. Lila hesitated, then took it. Together they stepped into the water. But she didn't sink—she floated! The lightning above made the water sparkle around her, and suddenly, swimming felt like flying through liquid stars.
"You're doing it!" Finnegan cheered. "The magic was inside you all along. The lightning just helped you see it."
They swam and played until the storm passed, painting the water with light and laughter. When Lila finally returned home, she knew two things: she wasn't afraid of swimming anymore, and somewhere in the woods, a magical bear would always be her friend.
Sometimes the scariest things—like storms or deep water—hold the most beautiful magic. You just need a brave friend to help you find it.
