The Lightning Bear's Garden Surprise

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's cottage, especially on stormy days when rain tapped on the roof like gentle fingers. But today, the sky was clear, and she was playing by the old pool behind the house when she noticed something strange.

A small bear cub sat at the edge of the pool, looking sad. His fur shimmered with tiny sparks, like he had been rolling in glitter.

"Hello," Lily whispered. "Are you lost?"

The bear looked up, and tiny lightning bolts crackled between his ears. "I'm Sparky," he said in a voice like rustling leaves. "I'm a lightning bear from the cloud kingdom above. But I'm hungry, and lightning bears can only eat one thing — spinach that grows during thunderstorms!"

Lily gasped. "Grandma has a garden!"

She led Sparky to the vegetable patch, where rain had made everything grow wild and wonderful. Among the carrots and beans, bright green spinach leaves glistened with magical raindrops.

Sparky munched happily, and with every bite, his lightning grew stronger and more beautiful — not scary, but amazing. He shot sparkles into the sky that formed dancing shapes of rabbits, stars, and hearts.

"Thank you," Sparky said. "You've been a true friend. Lightning bears never forget kindness."

He reached into his fur and pulled out a small, glowing lightning bolt on a chain. "Wear this, and whenever you need sunshine on a cloudy day, just hold it tight."

Lily watched as Sparky climbed a rainbow back to his cloud kingdom, his lightning fur painting the sky with colors. She looked at her special gift and smiled, knowing that friendship is the most powerful magic of all.

From that day on, whenever storms came, Lily wasn't scared. She knew that somewhere above, her lightning bear friend was dancing in the clouds, and that true friends never really leave — they just live in different places, in different ways.
