The Lightning-Bark Magic

Barnaby was a small brown dog with floppy ears and a very big dream. Every day, he would sit by the glass bowl on the shelf, watching Goldie the goldfish swim round and round.

"Goldie has the whole ocean in her bowl," Barnaby would think. "I wish I could swim like that."

Goldie was no ordinary fish. She had golden scales that sparkled like tiny stars, and she would always swim to the glass when Barnaby visited, making bubbly noises that almost sounded like giggles.

One night, a terrible storm shook the house. Lightning flashed outside the window, turning the dark room bright as day. Barnaby, frightened by the thunder, hid under the bed.

Then he heard a splash.

Peeking out, Barnaby saw Goldie's bowl had fallen to the floor! Water was spreading everywhere, and Goldie was flopping on the carpet, gasping for water.

Without thinking, Barnaby rushed out from under the bed. But the floor was too slippery with water, and he couldn't get enough grip to reach her.

Just then, a huge bolt of lightning struck outside — CRACK! BOOM! — and the room filled with blinding purple light. Something magical happened: the lightning's energy seemed to jump right through the window and straight into Barnaby's fur!

His coat glowed with sparkling blue light. When he barked, little lightning bolts danced from his mouth!

"Woof!" he called, and the magical sound carried Goldie gently through the air, floating her right back into her bowl just as the water from the spill flowed back in too.

Goldie swam happily, making extra bubbly giggles. Barnaby's fur stopped glowing, but he felt different inside — braver and more magical than before.

"Even a little dog can do big things," Barnaby realized, curling up beside Goldie's bowl. "And sometimes, you just need a little lightning magic to help a friend."

From that day on, whenever storms came, Barnaby never hid. Instead, he would sit by Goldie's bowl, knowing that true friendship is the strongest magic of all.
