The Lightning Ball Game
Tommy loved his baseball more than anything. It was shiny and perfect, except for one tiny problem—Tommy had no one to play with.
One afternoon, while running through the sunny meadow near his house, Tommy heard a rustle in the bushes. Out peeked the most unexpected friend—a friendly brown bear!
"Hello there!" Tommy called, dropping his baseball.
The bear ambled over, his big paws gentle as he picked up the ball. He tossed it back, and that's when the magic began. Whenever the bear threw the baseball, little sparks danced around it!
They played for hours, throwing and catching. But then dark clouds gathered overhead. CRACK! A bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, striking their baseball field.
The lightning didn't hurt them—instead, it made the baseball glow with golden light. When the bear threw it again, the ball left a trail of sparkles in the air like tiny stars!
Tommy laughed with pure joy as he ran to catch the magical ball. "This is the best game ever!"
The bear nodded, his eyes twinkling.
As the sun came out again, the baseball's glow faded, but Tommy didn't mind. He had found something even better than magic—a friend who would play with him anytime, bear or not.
From that day on, Tommy and his bear friend met every afternoon. And whenever the sky darkened and lightning flashed, they knew something magical was about to happen.
Because sometimes, the best friends come in the most unexpected packages—even ones with fur and claws.
