The iPhone That Caught Magic
Maya tangled her fingers in her wild, springy curls as rain pattered against her bedroom window. Thunder rumbled like a giant tummy growling in the sky. She clutched her mom's old iPhone, its screen glowing with a flashlight app.
"Just a storm," she whispered, but her heart beat faster when a brilliant flash of lightning split the darkness.
CRACK!
Suddenly, something strange happened. Maya's curly hair began to sparkle and glow, as if she'd captured pieces of the lightning itself. Each ringlet shimmered like a tiny star. She gasped and raised the iPhone to take a picture, but the screen showed something extraordinary—her own hair was glowing purple and blue, like a galaxy!
"Whoa!" A tiny voice squeaked from the iPhone speaker.
Maya nearly dropped the phone. "Hello?"
"I'm Zap!" said the voice. "You caught me in your hair! I'm a lightning bug who lives in storms."
On the screen appeared a tiny glowing creature with wings made of electricity. "You're the first friend who's ever caught me! Usually I just zap-zap-zoom away!"
Maya's eyes widened. "You're magical?"
"Sure am!" Zap buzzed. "And your hair is special—it's curly enough to hold lightning! Want to see something cool?"
Suddenly, Maya's bedroom lit up as tiny lightning bolts danced from her curls, painting glowing pictures on her walls—a dragon, a castle, a butterfly.
"We can make magic together!" Zap cheered. "Your hair is my new home, and we'll be the best storm-catching friends ever!"
Maya grinned, her glowing curls bouncing with excitement. She'd found the most magical friend in the world, right in the middle of a thunderstorm.
Outside, the rain kept falling, but inside, Maya and Zap made lightning art until dawn, the old iPhone capturing their friendship one sparkle at a time.
