The iPhone at the Bottom of the Magic Pool

Lily loved summer days at her grandmother's old house, especially the mysterious pool in the backyard. Her grandmother always said the pool had been there longer than anyone could remember, and that sometimes, magical things happened in its sparkling blue water.

One hot afternoon, Lily was playing baseball with her new friend, Marco, who had just moved in next door. Marco was the best baseball player Lily had ever met – he could hit the ball so high it seemed to touch the clouds!

"I bet I can hit this baseball all the way to the moon!" Marco laughed, swinging his bat with all his might. But instead of flying to the moon, the ball took a strange curve and SPLASHED right into the middle of the pool.

"Oh no!" Marco cried. "That was my favorite ball!"

"Don't worry," said Lily. "We'll find it. But first, look!" She pointed to something glimmering at the bottom of the pool, something much more interesting than a baseball.

Both children stared in wonder. There, resting on the pool's floor, was a shiny black rectangle. Marco dove in, swimming gracefully to the bottom, and surfaced with the mysterious object.

"It's an iPhone!" Marco exclaimed, water dripping from his hair. "But look at the screen – it's glowing!"

The iPhone's screen showed not apps or games, but a beautiful, dancing light. When Lily touched it, tiny bubbles floated out, each containing a miniature picture – a dragon flying over mountains, a castle made of candy, a forest where trees had faces.

"This isn't just any iPhone," Marco whispered, his eyes wide. "It's a magic window!"

The children spent the rest of the afternoon touching different spots on the magical iPhone's screen, watching as the pool water began to sparkle with extra magic. Fish made of rainbow light swam around them. The water felt warmer, like a hug from the sun itself.

As the sun began to set, the iPhone's screen slowly dimmed. Lily's grandmother appeared on the patio, smiling knowingly.

"I see you found the pool's magic," she said. "That iPhone appears once every summer, to children who are true friends. It teaches them that the best magic isn't in screens – it's in friendship, imagination, and days spent together."

The iPhone slowly dissolved into sparkling light, leaving only ripples in the water. But Lily and Marco didn't mind – they had already discovered something better than any magic phone: a friendship that would last forever, and a pool that would always be full of wonder.
