The Green Vitamin Chase
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's cottage at the edge of the Whispering Woods. But today something magical happened. While helping in the garden, she noticed the spinach plants were glowing.
"Grandma, look!" Lily pointed. "The spinach is twinkling!"
Her grandmother smiled knowingly. "Ah, you've found the Moon Spinach. It only grows when the stars align just right."
Tiny golden orbs appeared on the spinach leaves. "What are those?" Lily asked.
"Those are star vitamins," Grandma whispered. "Each one holds a special magic. But you must be quick—they only last until sunrise."
Lily's eyes widened. "What kind of magic?"
"The vitamin of swiftness," Grandma said. "Whoever eats one can run faster than the wind until dawn. But there's a catch—you must use that speed to help someone in need."
Suddenly, a soft cry echoed from the woods. A baby rabbit was trapped beneath a fallen branch, and its mother couldn't move it alone. Storm clouds gathered. If they didn't hurry, the rains would come.
Lily didn't hesitate. She plucked a glowing vitamin from the spinach and swallowed it. Warmth spread through her legs. She felt light as a feather.
"Here I go!" she called, and started running.
Whoosh! Trees blurred past. The wind whistled in her ears. Lily had never moved so fast in her life. She reached the trapped rabbit in seconds, lifted the heavy branch as if it were made of feathers, and carried the little one back to safety.
The mother rabbit nuzzled Lily's hand in gratitude.
Grandma was waiting with hot cocoa. "You did it, my dear."
The magic faded as the first light of dawn painted the sky. The spinach stopped glowing, looking ordinary again. But Lily knew better.
"Can we grow more star spinach?" she asked.
Grandma winked. "The stars always come back. And so does the magic, when you have a brave heart."
Lily smiled, her feet still tingling with the memory of running like the wind. She couldn't wait for the next starry night.
