The Green Pyramid's Magic Pool
Lily hated spinach. Every time her mom served those green leaves, Lily would push them around her plate and make a face.
One hot summer day, Lily was swimming in her backyard pool when something strange happened. The water began to shimmer and glow. Suddenly, a small golden pyramid rose from the bottom of the pool! It floated on the surface, sparkling like a captured sunbeam.
"Wow!" Lily whispered, swimming closer.
The pyramid opened like a treasure chest, revealing tiny green leaves inside. They looked like ordinary spinach, but these leaves glittered with magic.
A tiny voice echoed from the pyramid. "I am Phina, guardian of the Green Pyramid. These leaves grant courage to those who try new things."
Lily's heart raced. "You mean... if I eat your magical spinach, I'll be brave?"
"Yes," Phina answered. "But you must share it with someone else who needs courage too."
Lily thought about her new friend, Marcus, who was too scared to join the swim team. She plucked three sparkling leaves and swam to the pool's edge.
That afternoon, Lily and Marcus sat together with the magical spinach between them. Marcus's hands trembled.
"I'll try it first," Lily said, popping a leaf into her mouth. It tasted sweet and crisp, like sunshine and adventure! Warmth spread through her chest, making her feel brave.
Marcus ate his second leaf, then smiled. "I think I can do it now."
"Do what?" asked Lily's little brother, Toby, who had been watching.
"Join the swim team!" Marcus declared. "And Lily... you should try the spinach again. Regular spinach makes you strong too."
The pyramid's magic had worked! Marcus joined the team and won his first race. Lily learned to love spinach—both the magical and regular kind. And every time they visited the pool, the golden pyramid would appear, reminding them that trying new things brings the best adventures.
"Sometimes," Lily told Toby, "the things we think we hate are actually the start of something wonderful."
