The Green Power Pyramid

Leo hated spinach. But he loved baseball.

One sunny afternoon, Leo was playing catch in his backyard when something magical happened. His favorite baseball — the one with autographs from all the team players — suddenly glowed golden and rolled into the garden.

Leo followed it into a patch of overgrown vines. The baseball kept rolling... and rolling... until it disappeared into something strange. A miniature pyramid, only as tall as Leo's knees, glowed beneath the spinach plants.

"Whoa!" Leo whispered. He touched the pyramid's smooth side.

WHOOSH! Leo shrank until he was tiny, just like an action figure. Inside the pyramid, tiny creatures — no bigger than his thumb — were gathered around something.

"Our Green Power Source is dying!" a tiny guardian cried. "Without it, the Great Baseball in the Sky will fall!"

Leo gasped. The Green Power Source looked exactly like a leaf of fresh, green spinach.

"It needs energy!" another guardian said. "It needs someone who believes in its power!"

Leo thought about real spinach. His mom always said it gave him energy. But he'd never tried it with an open mind.

"Maybe," Leo said bravely, "you have to believe it will work. That's what my mom says about trying new foods."

The guardians looked at him with wide eyes. Leo touched the spinach leaf with his pinky finger and whispered, "I believe in green power. I believe it can make me strong."

The spinach leaf began to GLOW. Bright green light filled the pyramid, then shot up through the top like a beam of pure energy.

Outside, in the real world, Leo's dad was watching through the kitchen window. "Did that spinach patch just sparkle?" he wondered.

Inside the pyramid, the guardians cheered. "You saved the Great Baseball in the Sky!"

WHOOSH! Leo was back in his garden, normal size again. His magical baseball lay beside him.

That night at dinner, Leo tried spinach for the first time without complaining.

"How is it?" his mom asked, surprised.

"Powerful," Leo grinned. "Just like the tiny guardians said."

From that day on, Leo became the strongest hitter on his baseball team. And every time he ate spinach, he winked at the tiny pyramid hidden in the garden, where magic and imagination made anything possible.

Sometimes the most powerful things come in the smallest, greenest packages.
