The Goldfish Who Swallowed Lightning

Leo loved his tiny goldfish, Goldie, who lived in a bowl on his nightstand. Every night before bed, Leo would tap on the glass and whisper, "Goodnight, little friend." One rainy afternoon, Leo was practicing baseball in his bedroom when something magical happened. Lightning flashed outside his window, and suddenly Goldie began to glow! The goldfish swam in rapid circles, creating swirling patterns of light in her bowl.

"What's happening?" Leo gasped. He grabbed his dad's old iPhone to record the amazing sight. But the iPhone wouldn't turn on. Leo noticed something strange — a thick black cable was snaking across his floor, connecting Goldie's bowl to the wall outlet! The cable pulsed with the same golden light as Goldie.

The lightning outside flashed again, and Goldie's tiny body grew transparent like a living lightbulb. Leo watched in wonder as the goldfish seemed to swallow the lightning's power through her scales. "You're magical!" Leo whispered. Goldie swam to the surface and made a soft bubbling sound, like she was trying to speak.

Suddenly, Leo understood. Goldie needed the lightning to stay alive. Without its magical energy, she would fade away like a forgotten dream. Leo carefully moved Goldie's bowl closer to the window, positioning the baseball under it to tilt it just right toward the storm outside.

Each lightning bolt that struck made Goldie glow brighter. She did a happy flip, her scales shimmering like tiny stars. Leo realized that true friendship means helping each other shine, even when it means moving your baseball and arranging mysterious cables in a storm. From that night on, Leo knew that magic exists everywhere — you just have to believe in the impossible, especially when your goldfish glows like lightning.
