The Goldfish Who Sparkled
Lily loved swimming in her grandmother's pond. Every summer day, she'd dive into the cool water, her legs kicking like little frog legs. But this summer was different.
"Take your vitamin, sweetie," Grandma called, handing Lily a bright orange gummy shaped like a fish. Lily laughed and popped it in her mouth.
That afternoon, while swimming, Lily saw something extraordinary. A tiny goldfish with sparkly orange scales swam right up to her nose. The fish blew bubbles that spelled out: HELLO!
Lily gasped and surfaced. "You can talk?"
The goldfish jumped up and spoke in a squeaky voice. "I'm Finn! I was a regular fish until I ate that magical vitamin pebble you dropped yesterday! Now I can talk and do tricks!"
Lily and Finn became best friends. They played treasure hunt in the pond, racing to find the shiniest pebbles. Finn could jump through water hoops and make rainbow ripples.
One day, Finn looked worried. "My friend Ziggy needs help. He's a zombie fish — he got stuck in old fishing net and he's been floating upside down for days!"
"A zombie fish?" Lily asked, frightened.
"Not a scary zombie!" Finn explained quickly. "Just a fish who forgot how to swim properly. He needs to remember!"
Lily knew what to do. She found Ziggy trapped near some lily pads. Gently, she freed him from the net. But Ziggy still floated upside down, looking dizzy.
"He forgot his fish instincts!" said Finn. "Watch this!" Finn showed Ziggy how to wiggle his fins and flip over. Lily made gentle waves to help Ziggy practice.
After many tries, Ziggy finally swam right-side up! "Thank you!" he cheered. "I'm not a zombie fish anymore! I'm Ziggy the swimming champion!"
That evening, Lily sat by the pond with Grandma. "I made new friends today," she said, watching Finn and Ziggy do flips in the water.
Grandma smiled. "Friendship and kindness, Lily — those are the best vitamins of all. They make everyone stronger."
Lily nodded, watching her magical fish friends sparkle in the sunset. Some vitamins came from bottles, she realized, but the most important ones came from helping others.
