The Goldfish Who Rode Lightning

Finley was no ordinary goldfish. While his brothers and sisters were happy just swimming around their tiny bowl, Finley spent his days pressing his nose against the glass, dreaming of the world beyond.

"If only I could swim in the ocean like the fish in Grandpa's stories," he sighed.

One stormy evening, when the sky turned dark purple and rain tapped against the window like tiny fingers, something extraordinary happened. A bolt of lightning flashed outside—and somehow, its magic spark zapped right through the window and into Finley's bowl!

Finley felt a tingle, like bubbly electricity, all through his golden scales. Suddenly, he wasn't just swimming in water anymore. He found himself floating OUT of his bowl, leaving a shimmering trail behind him like a tiny shooting star!

"Whoa!" cried a small voice. Finley turned to see a lightning bug named Luna hovering near the window, her wings glowing with amazement. "You're swimming through the AIR!"

"I guess the lightning gave me magic powers!" Finley grinned. "Want to be friends and explore together?"

Luna buzzed excitedly. "Yes! Let's see the world!"

Together they soared through the stormy night. They zipped past tall trees, danced between raindrops, and even glimpsed the ocean's sparkling waves in the distance. Finley had never felt so alive!

But as the storm passed, Finley began to fade. "My magic is going away," he worried.

"Don't be sad," Luna said kindly. "True friendship is its own kind of magic—the kind that stays forever."

Finley swam back into his bowl just in time, his golden scales now ordinary again. But he didn't mind. He had discovered something better than lightning magic: a true friend who believed in him.

Now whenever storms come, Finley smiles and remembers: with a good friend by your side, even the smallest goldfish can have the biggest adventures.
