The Goldfish Who Ran on Air

Leo loved three things: his pet goldfish Sunny, eating oranges, and running fast through the park. Every morning before school, he'd peel an orange at the kitchen counter while watching Sunny swim lazy circles in her glass bowl.

"You must get bored in there," Leo whispered, tapping the glass. Sunny swam to him and wiggled her long orange fins. Leo always thought she looked like she was smiling.

One Saturday, Leo had an idea. He carefully carried Sunny's bowl outside and set it on the grass. Then he started running - around and around the yard, faster and faster, the warm sun on his face. His pocket glowed where he'd put an extra orange snack.

Something magical happened. As Leo sprinted past Sunny's bowl, tiny bubbles rose from the water. They floated toward him, popping against his cheek like soft kisses. Inside the bubbles, he saw miniature images - Sunny swimming through oceans, Sunny leaping up waterfalls, Sunny FLYING through clouds.

Leo stopped running and knelt by the bowl. "What are you trying to tell me?"

Sunny jumped.

Right out of the bowl!

But instead of flopping on the grass, Sunny swam through the AIR. Her golden scales caught the sunlight, creating rainbows everywhere she went. She wasn't swimming anymore - she was RUNNING, her fins moving like tiny legs.

"Sunny! You're flying!" Leo laughed.

The orange in Leo's pocket glowed brighter. He realized it must be magic - the combination of running + orange + goldfish had created something wonderful.

Sunny zoomed around the yard, chasing butterflies. She did loops and spins, her orange fins shimmering. After ten amazing minutes, she grew tired and softly landed back in her bowl.

From that day on, every weekend, Leo would run with his orange, and Sunny would run on air. They had the most magical secret in the world.

Leo learned something important: magic exists when you truly love something. Even a small goldfish can have big dreams, and sometimes, dreams really do come true.

Now every time Leo peels an orange, he smiles - remembering the day his goldfish learned to run.
