The Goldfish Who Played with Lightning
Lily loved watching padel games from her window. The courts near her house always looked like colorful rectangles where players laughed and hit balls back and forth. But she loved stormy afternoons even more.
One rainy day, Lily spotted something shiny in a puddle near the padel courts. A tiny goldfish was swimming there!
"You'll be safe with me," Lily said, gently scooping up the goldfish into her water bottle. She named him Sparkle because his scales shone like tiny stars.
That night, lightning flashed across the sky. Lily watched in amazement as Sparkle glowed brighter with each flash! When thunder rumbled, Sparkle did a little flip in his bowl.
"Do you like lightning?" Lily whispered.
Sparkle swam to the surface and *BLOOP*—a tiny spark danced from his fins to the window!
The next afternoon, Lily brought Sparkle to watch her friends play padel. Storm clouds gathered, and CRACK! Lightning struck a nearby tree. Everyone ran for cover—everyone except Lily. She watched Sparkle's bowl shimmer.
Suddenly, Sparkle leaped from his bowl and didn't fall. Instead, he swam through the air like he was in water! Lightning bolts wrapped around him like ribbons, turning the dark stormy sky into a beautiful light show.
Sparkle created a glowing dome over the padel courts, protecting everyone from the rain. The children cheered and played padel under the magical shelter while lightning painted the sky above them.
When the storm passed, Sparkle returned to his bowl, now covered in sparkly patterns.
"You're not just a goldfish," Lily said. "You're a lightning fish!"
From that day on, whenever storms came, Lily and her friends would gather at the padel courts. Sparkle would turn scary storms into magical light shows, teaching everyone that even the things that seem small and ordinary can have extraordinary powers.
And Lily learned that friendship can be found in the most unexpected places—even in a puddle near a padel court.
