The Goldfish Who Loved Spinach

Leo stared at his dinner plate. The green pile looked like a miniature mountain he'd never climb.

"I don't like spinach," he whispered to his fishbowl.

Fin, his orange goldfish, swam to the glass and blew a tiny bubble. *POP.*

That night, Leo couldn't sleep. A soft glow came from the fishbowl. Fin was swimming—in the air! Like the air was water, the goldfish circled Leo's room, leaving sparkles behind.

"Come!" Fin seemed to say.

Leo followed Fin out the window, and suddenly he was swimming too—through the night sky, past the moon, into a magical garden where everything was GREEN.

Spinach leaves the size of umbrellas grew everywhere. Magical creatures swam between them—fish with butterfly wings, turtles that flew, rabbits that hopped from leaf to leaf.

"Welcome to the Kingdom of Spinach," Fin said. "This is where the magic grows!"

An old turtle floated over. "Every child who hates spinach visits us. But they all leave with something special."

He gave Leo a tiny spinach leaf wrapped in stardust. "Eat this, and you'll understand."

Leo nibbled the leaf. Sweet as berries, crunchy as apples, warm as sunshine. Suddenly he could swim faster than any fish, jump higher than any kangaroo, and understand what all the creatures were saying.

He spent the whole night swimming through spinach forests, making friends with magical fish, and having the best adventure of his life.

When he woke up, Fin was back in his fishbowl, sleeping peacefully.

At dinner that night, Leo took a bite of spinach. It didn't taste exactly like the magical leaf—but now he knew its secret. Somewhere, in a secret garden, his friend Fin was swimming through spinach leaves, waiting for the next adventure.

And sometimes, if you look closely at a fishbowl at just the right time, you might see a goldfish wink, remembering the magic that grows in the greenest leaves of all.

Leo finished every bite. After all, you never know when you might need spinach magic for your next adventure.
