The Goldfish Who Knew Everything

Lily pressed her nose against the glass bowl. Inside, Barnaby the goldfish swam in lazy circles, his orange scales shimmering like tiny coins.

"I wish you could talk," Lily whispered. Then she giggled. "Or at least swim somewhere bigger than this bowl."

Barnaby flipped his tail. SPLASH! Suddenly, he wasn't in the bowl anymore. He was floating in midair, surrounded by sparkles.

"I CAN swim somewhere bigger!" Barnaby chirped. "Take me to your pool!"

Lily's eyes grew huge as she carried Barnaby outside. The backyard pool gleamed under the summer sun like a giant blue jewel. She gently lowered her friend into the water.

Barnaby zipped around like a living rainbow. "This is AMAZING!" he cheered. "But wait—I'm hungry! Do you have any papaya?"

"Papaya?" Lily laughed. "We have a papaya tree by the fence!"

She ran to grab a ripe orange fruit, sliced it open, and tossed pieces into the water. Barnaby nibbled happily. "Mmm! This papaya is magic! It gives me the power of the Vitamin of Wonder!"

"Vitamin of Wonder?" Lily asked.

"Yes!" Barnaby swam closer. "It's the special vitamin that makes every day an adventure. The vitamin that helps you see magic everywhere—in clouds, in flowers, in each other."

Lily looked at her backyard with new eyes. The pool wasn't just water anymore. It was a portal. The papaya tree was a magic snack bar. And Barnaby wasn't just a pet—he was her adventure friend.

"Can I have some Vitamin of Wonder too?" she asked.

Barnaby smiled (fish can smile when they're magic). "You already have it. It's inside everyone who believes in friendship and never stops asking 'what if?'

That afternoon, they played together until sunset. Lily learned that the best adventures aren't about going far away—they're about seeing the world with wonder, right where you are.

And Barnaby? He finally had a pool big enough for all his dreams.
