The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Sky

Lily's goldfish, Finley, lived in a glass bowl on her nightstand. But he was no ordinary fish — he could read minds!

"I wish I could see the world," Finney thought-bubbled to Lily one night.

Lily gasped. "Me too! Let's be secret spies and explore!"

In the morning, Lily hid Finney in a jar of spinach leaves — his favorite snack. They crept past her mom, who was busy watering the tall palm tree in their yard.

"Where are you two sneaking off to?" Mom asked, tapping her palm open expectantly.

Lily showed Finney's jar. "We're going on an adventure!"

Mom winked. "Be back for lunch. We're having padel in the backyard — your cousin is bringing his racquet!"

Lily and Finney explored the neighborhood. They spied on Mrs. Higgins' cat (who was secretly a superhero napping), watched ants build a tiny city, and discovered a hidden garden behind the old library.

But the most magical thing happened when they reached the park. Finney's jar began to glow!

"What's happening?" Lily cried.

Suddenly, Finney floated out of the jar and grew tiny wings! "My dream is coming true!" he chirped.

They soared above the trees, seeing the whole world from the sky. Children playing tag, dogs chasing balls, and even a family having a padel tournament.

"This is wonderful," Lily laughed. "But Finney, look at all the people who can't fly like us. They're still happy."

Finney nodded. "Adventure isn't about going far — it's about seeing magic everywhere, even in a spinach leaf."

They returned home just as Mom called them for lunch. Finney settled back into his bowl, dreaming of tomorrow's adventure.

That night, Lily whispered, "Best friends make the best spies."

Finney blew a tiny bubble. "And the best adventures happen right at home."
