The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Running

In a cozy blue bedroom lived a small goldfish named Gill. He swam in circles around his glass castle, but his heart wasn't in the tank. Gill watched through the glass as children ran past his window, their laughter floating like bubbles.

"I wish I could run," Gill sighed, blowing a tiny bubble.

One Tuesday, something magical happened. A girl named Maya dropped an orange slice into his tank while feeding him. Gill nibbled it, and suddenly—GLOW! His fins tingled with sparkling light.

"That's no ordinary orange," whispered a voice from behind the fishbowl. It was Maya's grandma, smiling like sunshine. "That's a Magic Dream Vitamin. It grows on the special tree in our garden when someone wishes with all their heart."

Gill felt stronger than ever. His scales shimmered like golden coins. "Does this mean I can run?" he asked.

Grandma nodded. "But remember—magic works best when shared with a friend."

Gill used his new magic to leap right out of his bowl! He landed on tiny, shimmering legs and started running. He ran through the house, out the door, and into the garden. The grass felt like soft green carpet under his feet.

But running alone wasn't as wonderful as he'd imagined. The world felt big and lonely.

Then he saw Maya sitting on a bench, looking sad. She'd dropped her favorite toy.

Gill remembered Grandma's words. Instead of running off to have adventures, he used his magic to help Maya find her toy. They played together all afternoon, Gill running and Maya laughing.

By sunset, the Magic Dream Vitamin's spell was fading. Gill would return to his fishbowl, but something had changed. He'd learned that running is wonderful, but friendship is the real magic.

"Next time," Grandma winked, planting another orange seed, "we'll grow a Friendship Vitamin."

Gill swam happy laps in his blue castle home, dreaming of tomorrow—when he'd run with Maya again.
