The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Running
In a small blue bowl on a sunny windowsill, a tiny goldfish named Finnegan spent his days swimming in circles. But Finnegan had a secret wish. He wanted to go running.
Every afternoon, a girl named Lily would race past his window, her sneakers flashing bright pink. Finnegan would press his nose against the glass, watching her run faster and faster, her laughter trailing behind her like sparkles. "I wish I could run too," he sighed, blowing tiny bubbles.
One magical morning, something extraordinary happened. Lily's cat knocked the fishbowl off the table. But instead of falling, Finnegan found himself swimming through the AIR itself!
The water had turned into sparkly mist, and Finnegan realized he wasn't just swimming anymore—he was RUNNING on clouds! His golden scales glistened as he zoomed through the sky, past surprised birds and over rooftops.
"Hey!" called Lily from below, pointing up. "That goldfish is running on the clouds!"
Finnegan did a joyful flip and swooped down to meet her. "Want to come swimming with me?" he bubbled.
Lily's eyes widened. "But you're a fish, and I'm a girl!"
"In the sky, anything is possible!" Finnegan said.
Lily laughed and suddenly found herself floating upward, running right beside the swimming goldfish through cotton-candy clouds. Together they discovered that running and swimming were almost the same thing—both were about moving forward with joy.
From that day on, every afternoon, Lily would go running and Finnegan would go swimming in his bowl. But sometimes, if you looked very carefully, you might see a golden flash in the sky, and a girl with pink sneakers laughing as she ran alongside a very special fish who had discovered that the biggest adventures happen when you dare to dream beyond your bowl.
