The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Running

In a cozy house by the sea, there lived a small orange goldfish named Finn. Finn wasn't like other goldfish. While his fish friends in the pet store had been happy to swim in circles, Finn had big dreams — he wanted to go RUNNING.

"Fish don't run," the other fish had laughed. "Fish swim!"

But Finn knew better. Every night, he would watch his owner, a little girl named Lily, and dream about what it would feel like to have legs that could carry you anywhere.

One magical morning, Lily's grandmother came to visit. She was a palm reader who could see the future in people's hands. When she looked at Finn floating in his bowl, she gasped.

"This fish has extraordinary dreams," she said, pressing her weathered PALM against the glass. "Dreams that could change everything."

That afternoon, Lily received an unexpected gift — a talking parrot from her uncle who was traveling around the world. The parrot, named Mango, was as ORANGE as a sunset and full of magic.

"I can grant one wish," Mango squawked. "But you must choose wisely."

Finn swam to the top of his bowl. "I wish to run!" he bubbled.

Mango's feathers glowed. Suddenly, Finn sprouted two tiny legs and found himself standing on the kitchen counter. He took a step. Then another. He was RUNNING!

Finn ran everywhere — through the garden, over the grass, around the playground. But running alone wasn't as magical as he'd imagined. He missed his friends in the fishbowl.

At dinner that night, Lily's grandmother served something green and leafy. "What's this?" Finn asked.

"SPINACH," said Lily. "It gives you strength to do hard things."

Finn had an idea. He ran to the pet store and gathered all his fish friends. With Mango's help, he gave them all legs too. Soon, a whole group of fish were running together, playing tag, racing, and exploring.

But something was still missing. The fish couldn't swim anymore, and they missed the water.

"Real magic," Mango said wisely, "is knowing that you already have everything you need."

Finn understood. He wished everyone back to normal, and they all swam happily in their bowl. But now Finn swam differently — with joy, knowing his heart could travel anywhere, even if his fins stayed in the water.

Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones you carry inside you, wherever you go.
