The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Flying

Leo loved running more than anything else. Every morning, he would sprint through meadows, race the wind, and chase clouds across the sky. But his favorite place to run was the old baseball field behind his house.

One sunny afternoon, Leo found something amazing near home plate—a tiny goldfish flopping in the grass, far from any stream or pond. Its orange scales sparkled like little pieces of sunset.

"What are you doing here?" Leo asked gently. He picked up the goldfish and ran to his house, where he had a fishbowl ready.

The goldfish, whose name was Finn, had a secret wish. "I want to fly," he bubbled, swirling around his bowl. "I watch birds through the window, and I dream of soaring above the baseball field."

Leo smiled. "Maybe we can help each other. I'll show you how I feel when I'm running, and you can tell me about the magical worlds you've seen in streams and ponds."

Every day, Leo would place Finn's bowl near the window while he practiced baseball. Finn would watch Leo's baseball arc through the sky, flashing like an orange comet. Leo told Finn about the feeling of wind rushing past, the thump of sneakers on dirt, the joy of moving fast.

Then Finn had a brilliant idea. "What if we combine our dreams? You throw your baseball, and imagine I'm swimming through the air instead of water!"

Leo threw his baseball with all his heart. At that moment, something magical happened—Finn began to glow and hover above his bowl! The goldfish was flying, spinning and diving like he was swimming through an invisible ocean.

"I'm doing it!" Finn exclaimed. "I'm running through the sky!"

From that day on, Leo and Finn became the best team ever. When Leo threw his baseball, Finn would fly alongside it, shimmering like a tiny orange star. The other children couldn't see Finn, but they noticed how Leo's baseball seemed to have a magical glow.

Finn learned that even a goldfish could run—in his own special way. And Leo learned that the best dreams are the ones you share with friends.

Sometimes, if you look carefully at a baseball game, you might still see a flash of orange light streaking across the sky. That's Finn, running and flying, reminding everyone that no dream is too big, no friend is too small, and magic lives everywhere—even in a fishbowl.
