The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Egypt
Lily's pet goldfish, Finnick, was no ordinary fish. While most goldfish were happy swimming in circles, Finnick spent his days pressing his nose against the glass of his bowl, staring at the picture book Lily had left open on her desk.
"I wish I could see the Great Pyramid," Finnick would sigh, blowing bubbles that floated up like tiny crystal balls.
One magical afternoon, when sunbeams danced through Lily's window, something extraordinary happened. Lily was eating her orange vitamin drops when Finnick did his most impressive bubble-blowing trick ever. The biggest bubble caught a beam of sunlight and—POOF!
Suddenly, Finnick wasn't in his bowl anymore. He was floating in the air, surrounded by sparkling light, and right beside him was Lily, her eyes wide with wonder!
"Where are we?" Lily whispered.
"Egypt!" Finnick cheered, and sure enough, beneath them stretched golden desert dunes. The Great Pyramid rose from the sand like a mountain made by giants.
But something was wrong. The Pyramid looked tired and gray. A wise old camel appeared beside them. "The Pyramid has forgotten its magic," he explained sadly. "It needs the Dreamer's Touch."
Lily looked at Finnick. "You dreamed of coming here. Maybe you're the Dreamer!"
Finnwick's scales shimmered like tiny mirrors. "But I'm just a goldfish. What can I do?"
"You believed in something impossible," Lily said, taking his fin. "That's the strongest magic of all."
Together, they swam through the air to the very top of the Pyramid. Finnick closed his eyes and wished with all his heart—not just for himself, but for the Pyramid to remember its wonder.
Golden light burst from Finnick's scales! The Pyramid began to glow, first pink, then orange, then brilliant yellow. Sphinxes smiled. Camels danced. Even the sand turned to glitter!
"Thank you," the Pyramid rumbled happily. "You taught me something important. Even the oldest wonders need someone to believe in them."
As the sun began to set, Finnick and Lily found themselves back in her room, the vitamin drops still on her desk. Finnick swam back into his bowl, but now he had something more precious than any adventure—a friend who shared his dreams.
Every night before bed, Lily would tap the glass. "Dream big, Finnick."
And he would, because sometimes the most magical adventures start with a very small wish and someone wonderful to share it with.
