The Goldfish Who Dreamed of Baseball
In a shimmering blue bowl on a sunny windowsill lived Finley, a tiny goldfish with an enormous dream. While most goldfish were content swimming in circles and waiting for flakes, Finley spent her days watching the children play baseball in the park across the street. She would press her nose against the glass, her golden scales twinkling with excitement, imagining herself up to bat. One magical afternoon, a shooting star zoomed past her window and granted her one wish. Finley wished to be part of the game. Suddenly, she grew legs and found herself standing at home plate in a sparkly blue uniform. The bull from the neighboring farm had wandered onto the field and become the team mascot! His name was Buster, and he wore a giant foam finger on his hoof. Finley's first pitch came sailing toward her. She swung with all her might and—CRACK! The baseball soared through the sky, shining like a golden comet. All the children cheered, and Buster the bull stomped his hooves with joy. Finley rounded the bases, her heart pounding like thunder. As she slid into home plate, she realized something wonderful: even a tiny goldfish could play big games when she believed in herself. The shooting star's magic faded as evening fell, and Finley found herself back in her bowl. But now, whenever the children played baseball, they would wave at her window. And sometimes, if you looked very carefully, you could see Buster the bull standing by the fence, watching his little friend dream big dreams. Finley learned that size doesn't matter—what matters is having a brave heart and never giving up on your dreams, no matter how impossible they might seem.
