The Goldfish Who Could Run

Timmy loved his red baseball hat more than anything. He wore it everywhere, even when he wasn't playing baseball. One hot summer day, he was running around his backyard pool when his hat blew off and splashed right into the water.

Timmy jumped in after it, but something strange happened. In the middle of the pool swam a tiny goldfish with sparkly scales that shimmered like a thousand tiny stars. The goldfish was tangled in what looked like an old silver cable.

"Help!" said the goldfish. And Timmy realized—with a gasp of wonder—that the goldfish could talk!

"I'll help you!" Timmy promised. He gently untangled the cable from around the goldfish.

"Thank you," said the goldfish, whose name was Finbar. "This magical cable connects my world to yours. It broke, and I was stuck!"

Finbar explained that he was a special goldfish from a magical underwater kingdom. Because Timmy had helped him, Finbar granted Timmy one wish. But Timmy didn't wish for toys or candy. Instead, he wished that he could visit Finbar's kingdom.

Finbar told Timmy to put on his wet hat, make a running start, and jump into the pool. Timmy did exactly that—and the moment he hit the water, he wasn't wet. Instead, he was running along the ocean floor, surrounded by colorful coral and amazing sea creatures!

For one magical hour, Timmy explored Finbar's kingdom. He met talking crabs, played hide-and-seek with dolphins, and even helped a baby turtle find its mother. All the fish were friendly and kind.

When it was time to leave, Finbar told Timmy, "Remember, kindness opens doors to the most wonderful adventures."

Timmy woke up in his backyard pool, clutching his red hat. The mysterious cable was gone. But sometimes, when he looks at his hat, he still sees tiny sparkles, like stardust, reminding him that magic is real—and it all starts with being kind.
