The Goldfish Who Could Dream
In a tiny blue bowl on a windowsill, there lived a goldfish named Gilbert. Gilbert wasn't like other goldfish. He had dreams that sparkled like real stars.
Every night, when the moon rose high and silver, Gilbert's bowl would begin to glow. His orange scales would shimmer, and suddenly, he could swim through the air like a fish through water. Gilbert would dance around the room, explore the garden, and have wonderful adventures.
One evening, Gilbert flew through an open window and found himself in the forest. There, he saw a big brown bear sitting alone on a log. The bear looked very sad, his head drooping low.
"Hello there, little fish," said the bear, looking up with gentle eyes. "I'm Barnaby. What are you doing so far from home?"
"I'm Gilbert!" he bubbled happily. "Why are you so sad, Barnaby?"
"I have no friend," Barnaby sighed. "All the other animals are scared of me because I'm so big."
Gilbert's heart went wobbly. "I'll be your friend!" he said. "And I know just how to help you make more friends."
Gilbert taught Barnaby that being big wasn't scary if you were also kind. They practiced picking berries with care, singing gentle songs, and helping smaller animals. When other creatures saw how gentle Barnaby could be, they weren't afraid anymore.
Soon, Barnaby had more friends than he could count. But his very best friend was the tiny goldfish who had shown him that the best friends come in all sizes.
Every night, Gilbert still visits his bear friend, and together they dance under the moon, their friendship glowing brighter than any star.
