The Goldfish Who Chased Lightning

cablelightninggoldfish

Lily's goldfish, Finley, lived in a glass bowl on her nightstand. He was no ordinary goldfish. While other goldfish swam in lazy circles, Finley pressed his nose against the glass, watching everything Lily did.

One stormy evening, a thick black cable snaked across Lily's bedroom floor, connecting her television to the wall. Lightning flashed outside, making Finney's orange scales gleam like tiny jewels.

Suddenly—CRACK! BOOM!

Lightning struck the power pole outside. Sparks showered down like glittering rain. The cable behind Lily's television began to glow with a strange, shimmering light.

Finley watched in wonder as a tiny lightning bolt traveled through the cable, making it pulse with magical energy. Something miraculous was happening!

In a flash of golden light, Finley found himself swimming NOT in his bowl, but inside the television! He glided through colorful worlds—cartoon forests, outer space with twinkling stars, underwater kingdoms much like his own home.

But Finley grew lonely. All the characters were just pictures, moving on screens. None could see him. None could be his friend.

Finley spotted the glowing cable that had brought him here. Perhaps it could take him home!

With all his might, Finley swam through the cable, chasing the lightning's path back. Zoom! Whoosh! He tumbled through light and color until—

SPLASH!

Finley landed safely back in his bowl. Lily rushed in, worried by the thunder. She gasped when she saw Finley.

"You're glowing!" she cried.

Finley's scales still shimmered with stardust from his journey. He swam to the glass and blew a tiny bubble that spelled: FRIEND.

Lily giggled with delight. From that day on, she knew her goldfish was special. And Finley learned that the greatest adventures aren't about exploring magical worlds—they're about having someone wonderful to share them with.

Sometimes, when lightning storms rumble, Finley still watches the cable with a knowing smile. He's been to amazing places, but home with Lily is the best adventure of all.
