The Goldfish Who Befriended a Zombie
In a tiny blue bowl on a windowsill, there lived a golden goldfish named Glimmer. Glimmer wasn't ordinary — she could see things other fish couldn't. Like the sad little zombie who shuffled past her window every evening.
The zombie's name was Zeb, and he was the friendliest zombie in all of Shadow Valley. But everyone ran away when they saw his green skin and crooked smile. Everyone except Glimmer, who would wiggle her fins and blow bubbles whenever Zeb walked by.
One evening, Zeb stopped at the window. His eyes were sad. 'I wish I could go swimming,' he whispered. 'But zombies are too heavy for water. We sink straight to the bottom.'
Glimmer knew just what to do. She remembered something her grandmother had told her about the magical sea-foam vitamin that sparkled like tiny stars. 'If you find the rainbow vitamin that falls from the sky during storms, you'll float like a feather!'
The next day, a huge storm rolled through Shadow Valley. Zeb ran outside with his jar held high. Raindrops fell — some blue, some pink, some yellow. But then, something magical happened. A single drop of glittery rainbow liquid landed right in his jar. The sea-foam vitamin!
Zeb drank it carefully. Suddenly, he felt light as a dandelion seed. He ran to the pond and stepped onto the water. Instead of sinking, he floated! He was swimming!
Glimmer cheered from her bowl, blowing celebration bubbles. From that day on, Zeb swam every afternoon, and Glimmer swam along beside him in her portable travel bowl. The other children saw how much fun Zeb was having, and soon they were all swimming together — zombies, humans, even the scared cat from next door.
And Glimmer? She learned that the best magic isn't found in vitamins or raindrops. The real magic is friendship, and being brave enough to see the good in everyone, even when they look different.
