The Goldfish Spy's First Mission
In a cozy blue bowl lived Bubbles, a small goldfish with very big dreams. While other fish just swam in circles, Bubbles practiced spy moves. He ducked behind plastic plants. He zoomed through his ceramic castle. He even taught himself to read secret messages in the water ripples.
"Fish don't spy," said Glimmer, a shiny snail who shared the bowl. "Fish just swim."
But Bubbles didn't listen. Every night, the family's orange tabby cat would curl up near the bowl and whisper clues about what happened in the house. "The little girl lost her favorite ring," the cat would purr. "Or maybe it's the boy's missing marble."
One sunny morning, something terrible happened. The bright orange ball that the children played with was gone! Bubbles saw the sad children searching everywhere. This was his chance to be a real spy!
He slipped through a tiny crack in his bowl—*whoosh!*—and landed with a soft splash in a cup of water on the table. Perfect! His first mission had begun.
Following the clues the cat had whispered, Bubbles flopped and jumped across the kitchen counter. His orange scales sparkled like tiny treasure coins in the sunlight. Under the table he spotted it: the orange ball, stuck tight against the wall.
But how could a small fish push a big ball? Bubbles felt hopeless.
Suddenly, Glimmer appeared beside him! The brave snail had escaped too. "Together we can do anything," Glimmer said.
Working as a team, Bubbles pushed while Glimmer used his slimy trail to make the floor slippery. *Slide, slide, slide!* The orange ball rolled out from under the table—right to the children's feet!
"My ball!" cheered the little girl, scooping it up. She spotted Bubbles and Glimmer and gently carried them back to their bowl. "You two must be magic!"
That night, the orange cat winked at Bubbles. "Not bad for a goldfish spy. But next time? Take me with you. I have my own secrets to share."
Bubbles smiled his fishy smile. Some fish spy alone. But the best spies always have friends by their side.
