The Goldfish's Secret Pyramid
Lily stared into her fish bowl, watching Bubbles the goldfish swim in lazy circles. 'You must be the loneliest fish in the world,' she whispered, tapping the glass gently.
Bubbles didn't reply, but he did something strange—he swam to the bottom of his bowl and pushed aside a colorful plastic plant. Underneath it sparkled something Lily had never seen before: a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than her thumb.
'What's that?' Lily gasped, leaning closer. The pyramid glowed with soft blue light.
That night, Lily's iPhone sat on her nightstand, its screen lighting up with a message that appeared out of nowhere: 'Meet me at the fish bowl at midnight.'
Lily crept out of bed, her heart pounding. When she reached the fish bowl, Bubbles was floating at the surface, and the tiny pyramid was now the size of a basketball.
'Climb in,' said a voice—not from Bubbles, but from the pyramid itself.
Lily stepped inside the pyramid and gasped. It was bigger on the inside than the outside! She found herself in an underwater kingdom where fish walked on two legs and octopuses read books.
'Welcome!' Bubbles appeared beside her, now wearing a tiny golden crown. 'I'm not really a goldfish. I'm Prince Finley, and this is my kingdom. I've been waiting for someone like you to come along—someone who would talk to a fish instead of just watching me swim.'
'But why were you in my fish bowl?'
'Our kingdom was lonely,' Finley explained. 'We needed a friend from the outside world. Someone who would remind us that there's more to life than swimming.' He showed Lily around—castles made of coral, schools of dancing fish, and libraries filled with waterproof books.
They played for hours, but soon the blue light of the pyramid began to fade. 'It's time for you to go back,' Finley said, 'but promise you'll visit again. And maybe... bring some friends?'
Lily nodded. 'I promise.' She stepped back through the pyramid and woke up in her bed. The tiny pyramid was gone, but in the fish bowl, Bubbles swam happily.
That morning, Lily did something she'd never done before. She invited her neighbor Emma over to meet her fish. And as the two girls laughed at Bubbles's silly swimming, Lily understood: friendship, like magic, grows when you share it with others.
Bubbles winked at her—a goldfish who was really a prince, teaching a girl that the best adventures are the ones we share with friends.
