The Goldfish's Secret Pyramid
Leo loved his pet goldfish, Finneus, but he never imagined Finneus could talk until the day the orange fish bubbled, "Meet me at midnight at the pool."
That night, Leo crept outside with his flashlight. The moon reflected off the water of his family's swimming pool. Suddenly, Finneus leaped from his bowl and dove into the pool with a splash!
"Follow me!" the goldfish called, swimming toward the deep end. Leo jumped in, amazed he could breathe underwater.
At the bottom sat a miniature pyramid made of hundreds of glowing baseballs! "Each baseball holds a dream," Finneus explained. "Kids who believe in magic can visit here."
Inside the pyramid, shelves lined with sparkling vitamins. "These aren't ordinary vitamins," Finneus said. "One tablet grants courage, one kindness, and one creativity. But you can only choose one."
Leo thought carefully. His friend Maya was too scared to try out for the school play. Leo wanted courage for himself, but kindness for Maya felt more important.
"Kindness, please," Leo said, swallowing a purple vitamin.
The next day, Leo found Maya crying. "I can't do the audition," she said.
But Leo felt warmth spreading through his chest. "You practiced every day," he said, giving her his lucky baseball. "And I'll be there cheering."
Maya smiled, wiped her tears, and tried out — and got the lead role!
That night, Finneus winked at him. "True magic isn't in pyramids or potions. It's in choosing kindness for others."
Leo patted his fish bowl. "I think I already have the magic I need."
And somewhere deep in the pool, the baseball pyramid glowed a little brighter.
