The Goldfish's Secret Pocket

Maya loved her old iPhone. It didn't make calls anymore, but she kept pretend messages on it for her friends. One sunny afternoon, she sat by the garden pond watching her pet goldfish, Goldie, swim through the water. Goldie was no ordinary fish — sometimes Maya swore Goldie winked at her.

"What are you looking at?" Maya's grandma called from the garden gate. She held a basket of fresh spinach from the farmer's market. "Time to help make dinner!"

Maya sighed. She set her iPhone on the pond's edge and reached for her favorite purple hat. But suddenly, Goldie jumped! Splash! Water flew everywhere and knocked the iPhone right into the pond!

"Oh no!" Maya cried. She reached into the water, but her iPhone was glowing. Strange bubbles floated up from it, and Goldie swam right through the light.

Then something amazing happened. Goldie's scales turned rainbow-colored, and she grew bigger and bigger until she was the size of a cat. She spoke in a bubbly voice: "Thank you, Maya! Your magic phone freed me from the lonely pond spell."

Maya's eyes grew wide. "You can talk?"

"I'm a princess goldfish!" Goldie said. "I was trapped for 100 years. Your iPhone's magic broke the curse!" She swam closer to the edge. "I can grant you one wish. What would you like?"

Maya thought about all the toys she wanted, but then she saw her grandma struggling with the heavy spinach basket.

"I wish my grandma didn't have to work so hard in the garden," Maya said.

Goldie smiled and swam in a circle. The garden began to sparkle. The spinach plants grew tall and strong, and little magical creatures appeared to help with the gardening.

"Thank you, Maya!" Grandma called, looking surprised but happy. "The garden is taking care of itself today!"

Maya put on her purple hat and smiled at Goldie, who was now swimming peacefully in the pond. "We're friends now," Goldie whispered. "Come visit anytime."

That night, Maya learned that the best magic isn't in phones or wishes — it's in kindness and friendship. And sometimes, the most wonderful adventures start with an accident and a gold who's more than she seems.
