The Goldfish's Secret Phone Call

Lily loved her little orange goldfish, Finny. He lived in a glass bowl on her nightstand, blowing bubbles and swimming in endless circles. Or at least, that's what everyone thought.

One rainy afternoon, Lily was playing on her iPhone when she dropped the charging cable. It landed right next to Finny's bowl with a soft plop. Finny swam over to the glass and stared at the white cable. Then he did something impossible — he nudged his nose against the glass, and the cable's tip began to glow!

Lily gasped as tiny bubbles floated from the cable into the water, forming shimmering words: "HELLO, LILY."

"Finny? You can talk?" Lily whispered, pressing her face to the bowl.

The goldfish swam in a happy spiral. "ONLY THROUGH THE MAGIC CABLE. MY PEOPLE LIVE DEEP IN THE INTERNET, BUT WE FORGOT HOW TO SWIM HOME. WILL YOU HELP US?"

Lily's heart raced with excitement. A whole world of fish people trapped in her phone? She carefully connected the glowing cable to her iPhone. The screen rippled like water.

"Take my hand, Finny!" Lily said, and somehow her hand passed right through the glass. Finny wrapped his tiny orange fins around her finger, and together they dove into the glowing screen.

They found themselves swimming through an underwater kingdom inside the phone — but all the fish were floating sadly in mid-air, their tails drooping. They'd forgotten how to swim!

Lily thought fast. "Finny, show them!" She spun in circles, and Finny swam alongside her, making waves with his tail. The others watched, then began to copy him. Soon, hundreds of fish were swimming joyfully through the digital currents.

The oldest fish, Grandfather Guppy, thanked Lily with a special gift — a tiny orange scale that would let her visit anytime.

Back in her room, Lily tucked Finny's scale safely in her pocket. Now, every night before bed, she touches the cable and visits her fish friends. Because the best magic is the kind you share with someone you love — even if they happen to be very small, very orange, and very good at swimming in circles.
