The Goldfish's Secret Message

Young Leo felt lonely. While other kids laughed and played together at the park, he sat alone on the bench, watching them play padel and baseball, wishing he could join in but too afraid to ask.

One rainy afternoon, Leo discovered something magical in his grandmother's attic. Inside an dusty box sat an old iphone without a sim card. But when he pressed the screen, it glowed with rainbow light!

Suddenly, messages appeared on the screen:

HELLO LEO. I AM FINNIGAN THE GOLDFISH. I LIVE IN YOUR GRANDMOTHER'S POND.

Leo rushed to the pond and spotted the most magnificent goldfish with shimmering orange scales like tiny sunset flames.

"I've been watching you," the goldfish spoke through the iphone's speaker. "You have a kind heart. Tomorrow, when the children play baseball, you must join them."

Leo's stomach twisted with nerves. The baseball team would surely laugh at him.

"They won't laugh," Finnigan promised. "Because you have something special — a padel racket from your grandfather, and the courage to try. That's what makes a true friend."

The next morning, Leo marched to the park with his grandfather's old padel racket. When the baseball flew over the fence, nobody could reach it. Nobody except Leo, who used his padel racket to hit it back perfectly.

"Wow!" shouted Maya, the girl who usually sat by herself too. "Want to play together?"

Leo's heart soared like a bird. Soon, other children gathered around, amazed by how Leo had combined his padel skills with their baseball game. Even Maya joined in, laughing and running.

That evening, Leo returned to the pond with a smile.

"Thank you, Finnigan!" he said through the iphone.

"The magic wasn't in the phone or in me," the goldfish bubbled happily. "The magic was inside you all along — you just needed to believe in yourself enough to share it with others."

From that day on, Leo was never lonely again. He had friends, he had fun, and he had learned the most important lesson: courage isn't about not being scared. It's about being scared and doing something brave anyway.
