The Goldfish's Secret Message

Lily was playing with her mom's old iPhone when something strange happened. The screen rippled like water, and tiny bubbles floated out of it! Her pet goldfish, Goldie, swam to the front of her bowl and actually spoke.

"Lily! That phone is magical! It's a doorway!"

Lily's eyes went huge. "You can talk?"

"Only when magic wakes up," Goldie said. "Touch the screen and start swimming through!"

Lily's fluffy dog, Barnaby, jumped up. "I'm coming too!" (Barnaby was a very special dog who could also talk when magic was near.)

Lily touched the iPhone screen. WHOOSH! She, Goldie (in a magical bubble of water), and Barnaby were swimming through the air—up, up, up past the clouds, into a sky full of sparkly stars that tasted like strawberry candy.

They landed on a golden moon where an enormous sphinx waited. The sphinx had emerald eyes and wings made of sunrise light.

"Welcome, young travelers," the sphinx rumbled gently. "I guard the Secret of Stories. Every good dream, every happy memory, every tale of friendship—I keep them safe here."

"Why us?" Lily asked.

"Because you believe in magic," the sphinx said. "And because you love your friends—" she nodded at Goldie and Barnaby "—more than anything. That is the greatest magic of all."

The sphinx gave Lily a glowing golden key. "This opens any door. Use it wisely, and only to help others."

When Lily touched the key, WHOOSH again! They were back in her room. The iPhone looked normal. Goldie swam silently. Barnaby wagged his tail.

But in Lily's pocket, the golden key still glowed warmly.

That night, Lily whispered, "Thank you, friends. Adventures are better together."

And somewhere beyond the stars, the sphinx smiled.
