The Goldfish's Secret Garden

Lily had messy brown **hair** that never stayed in her braids. She loved to twist it around her finger when she was thinking, and she was thinking a lot lately.

Every night, she watched her **goldfish**, Sparkle, swim in tiny circles. "Do you ever get bored?" she whispered to the glass bowl. One Tuesday, something magical happened. When the moonlight hit the bowl just right, Sparkle grew shimmering wings!

"I'm not bored at all," Sparkle said in a bubbly voice. "Come with me!"

Lily shrank until she was fish-sized too, and together they flew out the window. They weren't being a **spy**—well, maybe just a little curious—as they peeked into the garden below.

There, behind the old oak tree, sat an enormous bull. But this wasn't a scary bull. His name was Barnaby, and he was crying big, sparkly tears.

"Nobody wants to be my **friend**," Barnaby sniffled. "They say I'm too big and too loud."

Sparkle and Lily looked at each other. "We'll be your friend!" Lily said, smiling.

Together, they showed Barnaby how to whisper like the wind and dance like moonlight. When he laughed, tiny flowers bloomed beneath his hooves—blue ones, purple ones, and ones that glittered like stars.

"You just needed the right friends," Lily said, her messy hair glowing in the moonlight.

From that night on, Lily learned something important: true friends come in all shapes and sizes—even goldfish with wings and bulls who dance under the stars.

And every morning, Lily's mom wondered why her daughter's hair was full of flower petals and why the goldfish looked so very happy.
