The Goldfish's Secret Friend

Lily loved walking by the pond after school, watching the water sparkle like diamonds under the afternoon sun. One day, something glimmered in the tall grass near the edge—a sleek silver iPhone, half-buried in mud.

She wiped it carefully on her shirt. Amazingly, it still worked! But instead of apps and games, a single message appeared on the screen: "HELLO? CAN ANYONE HEAR ME? MY NAME IS FINN."

Lily typed back, her heart pounding with excitement. "I'm Lily! Who are you?"

"I'M A GOLDFISH," the reply came. "AND I NEED HELP."

Impossible, Lily thought. But then she noticed something tiny and orange flickering beneath the lily pads. A real goldfish, smaller than her palm, was swimming frantically around a plastic bottle trapped in the weeds. And every time the fish's scales caught the light, the iPhone screen would flash.

The phone belonged to the goldfish's magic!

Lily knelt by the water's edge. "I see you, Finn!"

"MY FRIENDS ARE STUCK INSIDE THAT BOTTLE," Finn typed through the magical phone. "THEY CAN'T BREATHE."

Without hesitation, Lily waded into the cool pond water, reaching for the plastic bottle. Inside, three tiny goldfish darted nervously. She pulled the bottle out and carefully tipped it so they could swim free.

"THANK YOU, LILY!" Finn's message appeared. "YOU'RE THE BEST FRIEND WE'VE EVER HAD!"

Lily watched as the four goldfish swam together in a joyful dance. She realized something wonderful: true friendships aren't about having the same things or looking the same. They're about helping each other, no matter how different you might be.

From that day on, Lily visited Finn every afternoon. They didn't need the magic iPhone anymore—they had become friends in the most magical way possible. And sometimes, she noticed, the water seemed to sparkle even brighter when they were together.
