The Goldfish's Secret

Lily loved visiting her grandfather's pond. Every afternoon, she would sit on the mossy stone and watch the fish dart through the water. But one day, something magical happened.

A tiny goldfish with shimmering scales swam right up to her. But this wasn't an ordinary goldfish—it spoke!

"Lily," the goldfish said, "I need your help. The Great Sphinx in Egypt is lonely, and only a kind heart can help."

Before Lily could respond, the pond water swirled like liquid silver. In the blink of an eye, she found herself standing in a golden desert beneath towering palm trees.

Before her rose the magnificent pyramid, its stone blocks gleaming in the sunlight. But as she approached, she saw the Great Sphinx sitting sadly, its lion body resting on the sand.

"No one visits me anymore," the Sphinx rumbled. "They only come to take pictures and leave."

Lily's heart went out to the ancient creature. "I'm here to make friends, not to take pictures."

The Sphinx's stone face softened. "Then perhaps you can solve my riddle. I have guarded it for thousands of years."

"I'm ready!" Lily said bravely.

"I am the color of sunset, yet I grow on trees. I make sweet juice and refreshment in the heat. What am I?"

Lily thought carefully. Sunset color... grows on trees... sweet juice...

"An orange!" she exclaimed.

"Correct!" The Sphinx smiled, and suddenly its stone body began to glow. "You have shown kindness and wisdom. For this, I give you a gift."

The Sphinx touched Lily's forehead with its stone paw. "Whenever you feel lonely, look at any body of water, and you will see friends you cannot see with your eyes alone."

In a swirl of silver light, Lily was back at her grandfather's pond. The goldfish winked at her before disappearing beneath the lily pads.

From that day on, Lily never felt lonely. She knew that kindness could unlock magic anywhere, and that true friends could be found in the most unexpected places—even in a pond, a desert, or the heart of a lonely Sphinx.
