The Goldfish's Orange Dream

Lily loved her orange goldfish, Goldie, more than anything in the world. Every day after school, she would run straight to the blue bowl on her dresser and watch Goldie swim in happy circles.

One sunny morning, something magical happened. As Lily sprinkled the fish food into the bowl, Goldie did a flip and spoke! "Lily, I have a secret dream!"

Lily gasped, dropping the fish food container. "You can talk?"

"Only to my best friend," Goldie bubbled. "I dream of running through an orange meadow, feeling the grass beneath my fins. But I'm stuck in this tiny bowl."

Lily's heart squeezed. She wanted to help Goldie's dream come true. That night, she had a brilliant idea. She remembered her grandmother's special bottle—a tiny orange bottle filled with vitamin drops that could make impossible things possible.

"These are Magic Dream Vitamins," her grandmother had whispered. "Use them wisely."

The next morning, Lily placed one tiny orange drop into Goldie's bowl. "For your running adventure," she whispered.

Suddenly, Goldie began to glow! The fishbowl expanded like a bubble, and Goldie floated out, growing tiny legs. "Let's go running!" Goldie cried.

Together, friend and fish ran through the garden, past orange marigolds and yellow sunflowers. Goldie's orange scales shimmered like tiny suns. They chased butterflies and danced with dragonflies, laughing as the warm breeze tickled their faces.

"I never imagined anything this wonderful!" Goldie said, spinning in circles. "Thank you for believing in my impossible dream."

As the sun began to set, Goldie grew sleepy. The magic vitamin was wearing off. "Don't be sad," Goldie said as she floated back into her bowl. "True friends help each other dream, even when it seems impossible. And every night, I'll remember our running adventure."

Lily smiled, placing the orange vitamin bottle on her dresser. Some friends are goldfish who dream of running, and some friends are children who make impossible dreams come true. And that, she decided, was the best kind of magic of all.
