The Goldfish's Midnight Secret

Lily loved her pet goldfish, Goldie, who swam in a bowl on her nightstand. Every night before bed, Lily tapped the glass three times. 'Goodnight, Goldie,' she'd whisper. But one magical night, Goldie didn't swim to sleep. Instead, the little fish began to glow!

'Lily!' a tiny voice squeaked. 'I need your help!'

Lily rubbed her eyes. Goldie was floating above the bowl, her scales shimmering like tiny stars!

'You can talk?' Lily gasped.

'Only when magic is needed,' Goldie explained. 'I'm a secret spy for the Moon Kingdom. Tonight, young Princess Luna has lost her courage, and without it, she can't light up the night sky!'

Lily's heart pounded. 'How can I help?'

Goldie sprinkled magic dust that turned into a shimmering silver cable. 'Hold on tight! This will take us to the Cloud Kingdom.'

Lily grabbed the cable, and WHOOSH! They soared through her open window into the starry sky. Below, the world looked like a patchwork quilt of lights.

They landed on a fluffy cloud where a giant orange bull with golden horns stood guard. The bull looked fierce but kind.

'Only those with pure hearts may pass,' the bull rumbled gently.

Lily thought hard. 'I brought something special.' She pulled a juicy orange from her pocket—her bedtime snack!

The bull's eyes softened. 'You think of others before yourself. You may pass.'

Inside the cloud palace, Princess Luna sat crying, her tiara dim. 'I'm afraid of the dark,' she sniffled.

Lily sat beside her. 'Even the smallest light can chase away darkness. Look at Goldie!'

The goldfish swam through the air, leaving trails of sparkles. The princess gasped, smiling.

'Your bravery isn't about not being afraid,' Lily said. 'It's about doing what's right even when you ARE scared.'

Princess Luna stood tall, her tiara blazing bright again. 'Thank you, Lily! And thank you, Goldie the spy!'

Goldie winked at Lily. 'Our secret adventure ends at dawn.'

Back in her room, Lily climbed into bed, the silver cable fading into moonlight. Her goldfish swam peacefully in her bowl, but sometimes, on magical nights, Lily would see her scales sparkle just a little extra bright.

And whenever Lily felt scared, she remembered: even the smallest friend can help you find your courage.
