The Goldfish's Midnight Magic

Lily couldn't sleep. She tiptoed to the fish tank, where Finnegan the goldfish was usually asleep. But tonight, Finnegan was awake, his orange scales shimmering like tiny stars.

"Lily!" Finnegan said, blowing bubbles. "Tonight's the night! The Secret Pyramid opens!"

Lily rubbed her eyes. "Goldfish can't talk!"

"Tonight we can!" Finnegan swam in excited circles. "Grab your padel racket from the closet!"

Lily's heart pounded. Her padel racket glowed when she touched it. Suddenly, her bedroom wall rippled like water, and they stepped through into a world of purple skies.

"Swimming time!" Finnegan cheered, and the air became warm, silky water. Lily floated beside her fish friend, soaring past clouds made of cotton candy.

Below them stood the Secret Pyramid, glowing with golden light. But someone guarded the entrance—a zombie!

Lily gasped. But this zombie wasn't scary. He wore a party hat and held a lollipop.

"Welcome!" said the zombie, whose name was Zeb. "I've been waiting 100 years for someone to play padel with me!"

Zeb explained he'd been cursed by a grumpy wizard to guard the pyramid until someone friendly came along. Lily and Finnegan played padel with Zeb under the purple sky, laughing as the ball bounced between stars.

When Zeb won, the pyramid's golden light burst open, revealing treasure—not gold or jewels, but something better: dream bottles!

"Each bottle holds a beautiful dream," Zeb said, handing Lily one. "You've earned it."

Lily opened her bottle, and beautiful music filled the air—her very own dream song.

"Time to go home," Finnegan said.

Back in her room, Lily snuggled into bed. "Was that real?" she whispered.

Finnegan winked, his scales twinkling.

The next morning, Lily's padel racket lay by her bed, still glowing faintly. And in her pocket, she found the dream bottle, now a tiny glass marble.

Sometimes, she learned, the best adventures come from the most unexpected friends—and a little bit of midnight magic.
