The Goldfish's Midnight Game

Ten-year-old Leo lay in bed, watching the lightning flash outside his window. His pet goldfish, Goldie, swam in lazy circles in her bowl on the nightstand.

But tonight, something magical was happening.

As lightning illuminated the room, Leo noticed Goldie swimming in a strange pattern - up, across, and down again. Forming a glowing pyramid! The water in her bowl began to sparkle like stars.

"Leo!" whispered a tiny voice.

Leo sat up. Goldie was talking to him!

"The lightning opened the portal," Goldie said. "Come swimming with me to the Sky Kingdom! We're playing padel tonight, and we need one more player."

Leo's eyes widened. "But I can't breathe underwater!"

"Not that kind of swimming," Goldie giggled. She swam in another pyramid pattern, and suddenly Leo felt light as air. He found himself swimming through the bedroom wall, right outside!

Above them, glowing in the night sky, stood a magnificent pyramid made of clouds. Inside, cloud children were hitting a sparkling ball back and forth with magical paddles.

"Padel!" shouted a cloud boy, waving to Leo. "You're on my team!"

Leo swam through the air, discovering he could move freely. He and Goldie played the most wonderful game under the lightning's brilliant flashes. The ball made rainbow trails whenever it was hit.

Leo scored the winning point, and everyone cheered.

"You're small, but you're mighty!" Goldie said.

As Leo swam back through his window and into bed, Goldie returned to her bowl. The lightning faded, and everything was quiet again.

"Same time next storm?" Goldie winked.

Leo smiled, hugging his pillow. Even the smallest friends can have the biggest adventures.
