The Goldfish's Magical Pyramid

Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon after school, he'd grab his worn-out glove and race to the park to play with his friends. But today, thunder rumbled in the gray sky above, sending everyone home early.

Inside his room, Leo flopped onto his bed and sighed. His eyes landed on Fin, his tiny orange goldfish swimming in circles in the glass bowl on his nightstand.

"Must be nice to just swim all day," Leo moped, tossing his baseball into the air and catching it repeatedly. "You never have to worry about rain canceling your fun."

Fin stopped swimming and stared at Leo with big round eyes. Then, to Leo's amazement, the little fish began blowing bubbles—sparkly, glowing bubbles that floated toward the ceiling. But these didn't pop. Instead, they swirled together in the bowl, forming something...

A tiny golden pyramid!

Leo gasped and leaned closer. The pyramid pulsed with light, and suddenly he felt himself shrinking, smaller and smaller, until he tumbled right through the glass and into the bowl.

But he wasn't wet. He was standing on soft, shimmering sand in a vast underwater kingdom where everything glowed with magical blue light. And there was Fin—but Fin was now the size of a real kid!

"Welcome to the Pyramid Games!" Fin chirped, holding up a bubble-shaped bat. "We need your help. My team is down by three runs, and you're the best baseball player I know!"

The crowd of fish, crabs, and seahorses cheered as Leo took his position at home plate. A lobster pitcher wound up and threw a pearl baseball. Leo swung—CRACK! The pearl sailed through the water, past the octopus outfielder's waving tentacles, and splashed into a coral reef for a home run!

Fin's team won, and the tiny golden pyramid glowed brighter than ever.

"You saved us!" Fin said, doing a happy swim-dance. "Size doesn't matter when you have heart and teamwork."

Leo found himself back in his room, his baseball still in hand. Fin swam happily around the tiny pyramid, now just a speck of gold in the gravel.

"Guess you're not just a regular goldfish," Leo whispered, tapping the glass.

Fin blew a single sparkling bubble that floated up and popped like applause.

From that day on, Leo never looked at his goldfish the same way again. And whenever he played baseball, he'd make sure to include even the smallest kids—because you never know who might be magical inside.
