The Goldfish's Magical Cable
Lily peeked into her fishbowl where Bubbles, her orange goldfish, swam in lazy circles. But today, Bubbles wasn't lazy. He was dancing around something shimmering at the bottom of the bowl—a golden cable that seemed to glow from within.
"What's that, Bubbles?" Lily whispered, pressing her nose against the glass.
The goldfish swam up and nudged the cable toward the surface. As Lily reached in, the cable wrapped around her finger like warm spaghetti. Suddenly, she wasn't in her room anymore. She was floating in a sky painted with swirling colors, and Bubbles was swimming beside her, now the size of a dolphin!
"Hold tight, friend!" Bubbles said, his voice sounding like underwater bubbles. "The cable only works if you believe!"
They zipped through clouds made of cotton candy and stars that tasted like cherry cough drops. But soon Lily began to feel heavy, her glow fading like a dim flashlight.
"You need a courage vitamin!" Bubbles declared, flipping his tail. He guided her to a tree growing bottles of sparkling liquid instead of fruit. Each bottle was labeled: BRAVERY, KINDNESS, CURIOSITY.
Lily chose the courage vitamin. It tasted like sunshine and strawberries. Immediately, her light returned brighter than before.
"The cable works best when you're brave enough to be yourself," Bubbles explained as they slid back toward her room.
Lily landed softly on her bedroom carpet. The golden cable dissolved into sparkles, and Bubbles was back in his bowl, swimming in happy circles.
"Will we go again?" Lily asked.
Bubbles blew a bubbly kiss. "Whenever you need courage. Just remember—the magic was inside you all along. The cable just helped you find it."
That night, Lily fell asleep dreaming of cotton-candy clouds and knowing that sometimes, the best friends come in the smallest, scaliest packages.
