The Goldfish's Magic Wish
Lily loved her pet goldfish, Goldie, more than anything. Goldie lived in a blue bowl on her nightstand, swimming in circles and blowing bubbles.
One night, a huge storm rolled in. Lightning flashed across the sky like sparkling fireworks. Lily watched from her window, holding her favorite toy—a friendly zombie doll named Zippy that she'd made from old socks and buttons.
CRACK! A bolt of lightning struck right outside, and the whole house shook. When the lights flickered back on, Lily gasped. Goldie was floating in the air, glowing with golden light! She spun around like a tiny tornado, then *pop!*—she transformed into a real girl with flowing orange hair and scales that shimmered like rainbows.
"I'm a magical goldfish fairy now!" Goldie giggled. "And I have one wish to grant."
Lily's eyes widened. "Really?"
Goldie nodded, then pointed at Zippy the zombie doll. "I saw how lonely you get sometimes. You wished Zippy could come play with you, right?"
Lily nodded, her heart beating fast.
With another sparkly *pop*, Zippy the zombie doll came to life! He stretched his sock arms and smiled with his button eyes. "Hi! I'm your friend now!" Zippy said, doing a happy dance.
The three of them played all night—Goldie created rainbows with her hands, Zippy told funny stories, and Lily laughed until her sides hurt. When morning came, Goldie returned to her fishbowl (she could switch back and forth!), and Zippy became a doll again but promised he'd come alive whenever Lily needed a friend.
Lily learned that magic exists in the most unexpected places—even in a lightning storm—and that the best wishes are the ones that bring friends together.
