The Goldfish's Magic Vitamin
Lily's goldfish, Fin, was not an ordinary fish. While most goldfish just swam in circles and begged for flakes, Fin could do something magical. He could talk!
One sunny afternoon, Fin popped to the surface of his bowl and whispered, "Lily! I need your help. There's a zombie in the garden, and he's very lonely."
Lily's eyes went wide. "A zombie? Like the ones in movies?"
"No, silly!" Fin bubbled. "This is Mr. Peterson from next door. He's been sick for weeks, and he's so sad and pale that he looks like a zombie. But I know how to help him!"
Fin explained that he had discovered a special magic vitamin hidden in the garden—sparkly orange berries that grew on the bush by the fence. These weren't ordinary berries. They were "Joy Vitamins" that could make anyone feel happy again.
"Quick!" said Fin. "Fill my bowl with water, and we'll go on an adventure!"
Lily carefully carried Fin (still in his bowl) out to the garden. There, sitting on a bench, was Mr. Peterson. He did look rather zombie-like, with pale skin and tired eyes.
"Hello, Mr. Peterson," Lily said bravely. "Would you like some magic berries?"
The old man looked up, surprised. His eyes lit up when he saw the bright orange berries Lily offered. "Why, yes, young lady. Those look wonderful."
As Mr. Peterson ate the berries, something amazing happened. Color returned to his cheeks. He smiled—a real, genuine smile. "Why, I haven't felt this happy in months!"
Fin swam excitedly in his bowl. "You see, Lily? The best vitamin isn't found in a bottle. It's friendship and kindness!"
Mr. Peterson laughed and became their friend. He visited every day to hear Fin's stories and share his own. No longer did he look like a zombie. He looked like what he truly was—a kind, happy person who just needed a friend.
Lily learned that day that magic is real, but the strongest magic comes from caring for others. And sometimes, even a small goldfish can make a big difference.
