The Goldfish's Lightning Gift
Lily stared at the old swimming pool in her backyard. It had been empty for years, until the day she found something magical.
"What's that cable?" Lily wondered, pulling at a thick wire half-buried in the dirt. It pulsed with a strange, golden glow that made her fingers tingle.
Suddenly, the empty pool filled with sparkling water! And swimming inside was the most beautiful goldfish Lily had ever seen. Its scales shimmered like tiny suns, and it looked at her with wise, old eyes.
"Hello, Lily," the goldfish spoke. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to pull my cable."
"You can talk?" Lily gasped.
"Magic happens when you're curious," the goldfish smiled. "My name is Finn. I'm the guardian of pool magic, and I need your help."
Finn explained that his pool magic powered all the world's wonder—rainbows, butterfly wings, and especially lightning. But something was wrong. The lightning had stopped dancing across the sky during storms.
"Will you help me fix it?" Finn asked.
Lily nodded bravely. She held Finn's magical cable while he swam in circles, creating swirling patterns of light. The cable hummed with energy, and suddenly—ZAP!
Golden lightning shot from the pool, spiraling up into the dark clouds above. But it wasn't scary lightning. It was beautiful, twisting like glowing ribbons and painting the sky in brilliant colors.
"Thank you, Lily," Finn said. "You helped me remember that sharing magic makes it stronger."
From that day on, whenever Lily saw lightning during a storm, she knew it was Finn's gift to the world. And sometimes, if she looked very closely at her backyard pool, she'd see a flash of gold scales beneath the water.
Lily learned that the most magical things in life are the ones we share with friends. Even something as scary as lightning can be beautiful when you see it with a friend by your side.
