The Goldfish's Lightning Bolt
Lily loved running through her backyard, especially during summer storms. One afternoon, while sprinting through puddles, she spotted something strange—a tiny goldfish swimming through the air like a glittering orange balloon.
"Follow me!" the goldfish bubbled, and without thinking, Lily found herself running after it, past the old oak tree and through a shimmering curtain of rain.
Suddenly, they arrived at a magnificent pyramid made entirely of glass bottles, each one glowing with captured sunlight. Inside, the goldfish grew to the size of a dolphin and revealed her name: Princess Finola.
"I need your help," Finola said, her scales shimmering like rainbow sequins. "The Storm King has stolen all the lightning bolts that make the world's dreams come true. Without them, children everywhere have forgotten how to imagine."
Lily's eyes widened. "What can I do?"
"You're not afraid of running, are you?" Finola winked. "The Storm King's castle sits on a cloud, and he loves a good chase. If you can outrun his shadow, the lightning will be yours."
But Lily worried. "I'll need energy!" She remembered her mother's advice and pulled a bottle from her pocket—a vitamin supplement she'd forgotten to take that morning. The goldfish magic transformed it into a glowing blue marble.
"Take this," Finola said. "Courage vitamins are the most powerful kind."
Lily swallowed it and felt warmth spread through her toes all the way to her fingertips. She ran faster than ever, her feet barely touching the ground as she dashed across the cloud-top kingdom, dodging the Storm King's grumpy shadow.
"You'll never catch me!" the shadow growled, but Lily laughed and sprinted even harder, her new courage making her light as a feather.
She reached the lightning jar first, grabbed the brightest bolt, and wished with all her heart: "Let every child remember how to dream!"
The bolt shot into the sky, creating fireworks of imagination across the world. Children everywhere suddenly began drawing dragons, building forts, and believing in magic again.
Princess Finola returned Lily home with a final gift—a tiny lightning bolt charm on a silver chain. "Whenever you need courage," she whispered, "just hold this and remember: some vitamins come in bottles, but the best ones come from brave adventures with friends."
That night, Lily fell asleep dreaming of glass pyramids and fish who fly, her new lightning charm glowing softly on her nightstand, reminding her that the most wonderful adventures begin with a single brave step into the unknown.
