The Goldfish's Green Magic

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's garden. The rows of vegetables grew like green soldiers standing tall. But her favorite spot was the small pond behind the old oak tree.

One morning, she spotted something moving in the water. A tiny goldfish with scales like sunshine swam right up to her.

"Hello, little friend," she whispered. The goldfish flipped its tail, splashing tiny droplets onto her hands.

"Are you lonely?" Lily asked. The goldfish nodded its head—fishes can't really do that, but this one did!

Lily ran to the garden and picked some fresh spinach. Grandma had told her spinach makes you strong, but she wondered if it could do magic too. She carefully dropped a small piece into the pond.

The water began to sparkle! The spinach turned into tiny green lily pads. The goldfish danced on them, spinning and leaping with joy. More spinach made more lily pads, and soon other goldfish appeared—orange, silver, even purple ones!

They played together all day. Lily had never had so many friends at once!

When it was time to leave, the first goldfish said, "Thank you, Lily. Spinach made you strong enough to share. That's the strongest magic of all."

Lily waved goodbye to her new friends. She ran home to tell Grandma about the magic spinach pond and the most important lesson she learned: true friendship grows when you share what you have, no matter how small.

And every day after that, Lily brought spinach to the pond, where the water always sparkled with magic and friendship.
