The Goldfish's Grand Slam

Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her glove and run to the park, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But there was one problem — she always struck out.

One rainy afternoon, Lily found something strange in her attic. Tucked behind old boxes stood a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than her thumb. It glowed with a warm, mysterious light. When she touched it, the room filled with sparkles, and suddenly a small goldfish appeared, floating in the air beside her!

"Hello!" the goldfish said in a bubbly voice. "I'm Finn! I've been waiting for someone with a brave heart."

Lily's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"

"And so much more!" Finn swirled through the air. "I can help you with your baseball problem, but first you must promise something."

Lily nodded eagerly.

"You must believe in yourself, even when things seem impossible. That's the real magic."

The next day, Finn hid in Lily's pocket during her big game. In the final inning, with bases loaded and two outs, Lily stepped up to the plate. Her hands trembled.

"Remember!" Finn whispered. "The pyramid glows brightest when you believe!"

Lily closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She remembered Finn's words. She believed she could do this. She imagined the ball flying over the fence — a grand slam!

CRACK! The ball soared higher and higher, over the field, over the trees, and into the clouds. A grand slam! Her teammates cheered so loudly that Finn did happy backflips in her pocket.

That night, the golden pyramid shimmered one last time before fading away. Finn appeared one final time. "You didn't need my magic, Lily. You had it all along. The real pyramid is the strength you build inside yourself, layer by layer, like practice and patience."

Lily smiled, hugging her friend. "Thank you, Finn. But will you stay?"

Finn giggled. "I'll always be with you when you believe in yourself. Now, I must help another dreamer."

And with a splash of sparkles, he was gone. But from that day on, every time Lily stepped up to the plate, she remembered: believe in yourself, and you'll hit it out of the park.
